When I was expecting my youngest daughter, our home was already full of life. My two boys were excited in their own simple way. She was so small, so gentle, and so easy to cuddle. They loved her immediately, almost instinctively, as if they already knew she was precious. My husband and I had always wanted a daughter. It was a quiet desire in our hearts—one we did not force, but one we carried with hope. Before she was born, I had a dream. In the dream, I saw her sitting in a car seat placed on top of a rock. I did not fully understand what it meant, but I felt peace. When I later went in for the sonogram, I knew right away—she would be a girl.
God had already shown me.
When she was born, my boys took care of her in the way only children can—pure, joyful, and unguarded. They played with her every day. They made her laugh. They treated her like a treasure. Until she was around five years old, our home felt wrapped in a gentle season of togetherness.
Looking back, I realize how meaningful those moments were.
God often gives us gifts quietly. He does not always announce them loudly or explain everything ahead of time. Sometimes He simply places a blessing into our lives and allows us to experience it—one day at a time.
Children remind us of this truth. They live fully in the present. They love without conditions. They do not rush seasons or worry about what comes next. They simply receive what is given.
The dream I had reminds me now that God sees the future before we do. The rock represents stability. The car seat represents protection. Even before I held her in my arms, God was already showing me that she would be held, watched over, and placed securely—by Him.
This story teaches me something important:
Not every gift is meant to be rushed.
Not every season is meant to last forever.
But every season is meant to be cherished.
If you are in a season where life feels gentle, hold it with gratitude.
If you are in a season where things feel uncertain, remember—God has already seen what is ahead.
He places our lives carefully.
He protects what He gives.
And He walks with us through every season, even when we do not yet understand the meaning.
Sometimes the most powerful lessons come from the simplest moments—when love is pure, faith is quiet, and God is near.
